I live in the real world. I constantly see all these amazing images from fellow photographers and get a tad envious of the work they are shooting. They have all these extravagant sets, models, locations, and the best gear. I just need to remind myself that it is not the real world. Not to discredit the work, but they are surrounded by the most amazing people in their trade to aid in the production of the photographs. What I shoot is real life, no models, no sets. My cameras are tucked inside a camera bag next to diapers, baby wipes, snacks, and sippy cups. I am set in my environment and make the best of it. What I shoot is the world that surrounds me. I document my life. As for the gear, I use an M9 and many other film leica M’s. They are not cheap. I also am not rich. I don’t have the ability to buy the newest and best body and lens every time one comes out. It’s been a 4 year ride to get the M9 I now use and cherish. I will probably own it for the rest of my life.
I wouldn’t change a thing.
I wanted to give you all a glimpse into my typical days. See this as the first “day in the life”
